GUIDE, POINT REYES, APRIL 2000
- I am continuing to work on what will become a book
on the Point Reyes Peninsula. To that end, I have chosen seventy-four
photographs to be included in the book, and have finished printing them
and decided on their sequence (no small task!). Currently, I am writing a
series of short ruminations and tales of adventure based on my experiences
on Point Reyes which will serve as a long introduction to the images. I
am hoping to submit a ‘mock-up’ to publishers by the end of 2005.
- As mentioned in the ‘technical’ section of this
site, I’ve recently begun working with an 8”x10” view camera. Using this
new tool and creating the resulting contact prints (direct negative to
paper prints without enlarging) is somewhat different from what I’ve done
in the past, and the transition has at times been a challenging one.
Thus, for the time being, I am stepping back from participating in gallery shows and am instead concentrating on my book, on learning new skills and in general on further honing my craft.
